Caldecotte evening

Introduction

The day after getting my new camera I managed to find a few hours in the evening to wander around before and after sunset, taking pictures in the local area around Caldecotte Lake.

Caldecotte

The interesting swamp area.
H8 crossing Caldecotte.
Not a great picture, but I climbed over a 'nobody allowed past this gate' gate and walked out to the end of a pontoon over the lake to get it. So it's in. :)
Sun, low in the sky, behind trees.
The sun close to setting over the weir area.
A ramp in the lake overflow. (It's not normally there...)

South toward Fenny Stratford and back

Roof of some industrial building in Mount Farm.
Great pair of pipe bridges, next to a canal bridge, by the Sensient plant.
Heading back to Caldecotte again, came across this evil one-eyed gateway.

The moon!
Back to the weir on the Little Ouse. A sign reads 'No Swimming' - on hot days in summer it's usual to find a bunch of kids playing in it.
Still the moon!

Simpson and back around the lake

Car-park for the lake area. The gate is to prevent caravans from getting through.
Car coming through.
Footpath signs.
Okay, so taking pictures without a tripod in this light isn't really feasible.
Back to Caldecotte lake - and, yet still, the half-moon.

Javascript recommended; browser information

This site requires Javascript and a current browser for the dynamic photo viewer to work. The browser you're using doesn't make the grade.

You can still use the site; when you click on a picture thumbnail, the picture will open in this same window. (Use the Back button to return.)

If you want the site to be at its best, please enable Javascript and use a supported current browser. This site does not use any browser-specific code but it relies on support for core Web standards set by the W3C: XHTML, CSS, and the Javascript DOM.

We recommend using Mozilla 1.0+ or Netscape 7.0+ (or another browser using the Gecko layout engine). The site also works on Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+ (PC), which doesn't fully support the necessary standards but we did a workaround for it. It doesn't work on Opera because Opera doesn't support the DOM. Opera 7.0+ may resolve this in which case it'll work there too.

Site developed in valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0. Fully accessible to users in text browsers or without CSS+JS.
